    They had a place in the house for the hens and cock and chickens they said that the coc would keep out the devil.
    The people in former times believed in fairy stories and in fairies.
    They used to get the gable stone which had a little point on the top of it. This certain stone ws got sometimes in rivers.
    After the house was built they all gathered money for a dance and when they would have the money gathered they would buy butter, porter. and bread when they would have porter at a dance the would call it a porter spree.
    They would enjoy themselves dancing, eating, and drinking porter and tea.
