  2. John Wills and Darby Madden were neighbours. John was a piper by trade and Darby had red eyes.
    Darby
    was sowing potatoes and John said "what d'ye call those spuds Darb", "Blind Pipers", retorted Darb.
    Next day John was sowing his potatoes and Darb said "what kind of potatoes are those John". "Red Eyes" responded John sharply.
