chains are about a foot long, and then it branches into two, and this goes around the cows neck. The hay is put in between the sticks, and the wall. In some cow houses there are medals and blessed things hung over the door.
When people are after milking the cows they put the sign of the cross on their hips with the milk. People should not bring out a can for water with the stain of milk in it, because it is said that the cows would have no milk afterwards.
In the Winter the horse is kept in a stable. The stable is made of stone and cement, and it has a slated roof. The stable is cleaned out everyday, and dry straw put into it. The horses are always shod in a forge. Young horses such as "year and a halves" only get two front shoes. All other horses get four shoes, and in frosty weather they get in frost nails.
