   Oidhche amháin bhí Seán Ó Brúdair ar chuairt ar theach i Rath-Éilighe. Níor airigh sé an t-am ag sleamhnú agus bhí sé go h-an dheireannach ag filleadh abhaile dhó. Ag dul thar chrosaire dhó chuala sé torann mór agus d’féach sé thart. Bhí carn mór cloch ar thaobh an bhóthair agus bhíodar dá scaipeadh ar fud an bhóthair. An mhaidin i n-a dhiaidh sin chuaidh Seán go dtí an crosaire arís acht bhí na clocha ar an slighe céadhna agus a bhíodar i gcomhnaidhe.

   Once a man and his hound went out the mountain hunting. After a few hours they saw a hare, the followed him into a very lonesome place. There was an old cabin in the place and the hare leaped in the window. Just as he was going in the hound caught him by the hind leg. The man went in and there was nobody inside only an old woman in bed. He asked her did she see a hare coming in and she said no. He searched the house upside down but he could not find him. As he was searching under the bed he saw blood on the clothes. He looked to see where the blood came from, and the woman lit a roar, she changed back into a hare
