    Patricks Purgatory destroyed, confiscations went on.
    Father Gannon being Superior at the Abbey during those eventful years.
    1829 In 1829 this zealous priest was instrumental in building a new Convent for the carmelite nuns.
    1881 The new Novitiate was completed. This is the building which adjoins the church and convent house. The late Rev. Fr. Edward Hollan died much in furtherounce of the project. The novices were admitted to the new house the following year 1882.
    1889. The Apse was built and the five beautiful Stained-glass windows of the Apse were erected.
    1894 New roof ceiling, chancel and isles were added in fact. Fr. Gannon's church (1816-20) was so enlarged and impraved that only small portions of the original remains.
    1898 The new Tower was completed to match - and in memory of the centenary of 1798-1898. The present organ was also placed in the new gallery.
