    old it foretells bad weather
    When the halo is near the moon it is a sign of rain but if far out it means good weather.
    Sky A copper-coloured sky denotes an approaching thunder storm, while the presence of wool-packs or small fleecy clouds in the sky is an omen of rain and snow cold.
    In Summer when a ___ hot day comes during a spell of bad weather it is called a "pet-day" and is a sure sign of further bad weather
    When the stars are very bright and plentiful it is a sign of frosty broken weather
    When the meteors flash along the sky from the north also means frosty weather
