    Gort Eilisé. It got it name because there was a woman living there whose name was Éilis.
    Gort an cúil Ríadh. Because it is a heathery field.
    Heights.
    Corcán na nge. Because it was a hill where the geese loved to stay.
    The hill of the pigeons. So called because the pigeons stayed there in winter.
    The Rugán. So called because there is a fairy fort there and tradition says that there is a pot of gold hidden in it and that there is a fairy cat minding it. There is also another story told about it. One time there was a woman going to the market of Mount Bellew and as she crossed out by the Rugán she saw a man who asked her to care a baby. She did so and when she went in she saw a man behind the door crying. She asked the other man why was he crying. The man told her that when she would go home her next door neighbour
