Saucepans were used as drinking vessels before cups became common. In very olden times wooden vessels called "noggans" were used. - For dinner they had herrings and potatoes. Others had mashed turnips and they squeezed a súghóg into them with the tongs. Others had potatoes and milk.(continues on next page)
