    Shrove-Tuesday.
    This is also called "Salting Tuesday" because on this day the people throw salt on all the boys and girls who did not get married during Shrove.
    It is also called "Pancake Night" because on that night the people made pancakes and ate a big supper because as Lent started the next day the people did not eat any eggs or take any milk that day.
    Chalk Sunday.
    This is the last Sunday in Shrove. On that day the people bring chalk to Mass with them and put strokes of chalk on the men's backs who did not get married during Shrove.
    Good Friday.
    On that day the women let their hair loose in memory of the weeping women of Jerusalem.
