    St. John's Day.
    On that night the people lit bonfires and when they were returning home everyone took a stick or coal from the fire and threw it into the filed so that the crops would grow well for that year.
    Whit Sunday.
    This day was noted for accidents. No person would bring out a horse on that day. No one would touch water on that day for fear of being drowned.
    St. Martin's Day.
    On that night the people kill fowl and sprinkle the blood in the four corners of the house.
    Hallow Eve
    It was the custom on this night to make a cake and put a ring in it and whoever got the ring
