- There is a fairy fort in my district. It is round and surrounded by a ditch outside it is a big dyke where water gathers in winter. It is built on top of a hill and the forts are in view of each other.
For the entrance there is a hole where there was a pully-bridge. The Danes used this bridge to prevent the soldiers from invading the premises.
Once a man was digging in this hole and about five feet deep he got the head of a person. He took it in his hand and it became ashes immediately. The man was so much afraid that he ran away.
Lights have been seen many a time in this fort and fairy people have been seen in it.(continues on next page)- Collector
