When the drills are made the manure is spread on the furrow and the seed is dropped on the manure each seed a foot apart. The spades are not manufactured in the district they are bought in the shops. The spade consists of iron and wood.
    In the season of Autumn the potatoes are dug with a spade and left on the ridge until they are gathered in the afternoon. The big potatoes are heaped alone in the field and the small ones are brought home and boiled for
