    made here now but the wool is still sent to the mill in Foxford and the cloth is got back in exchange. Old people send this cloth to the tailor in Kinlough or Glenade who change them about 15/ to make the suit.
    About fifty years ago all socks and stockings were made from yarn spun locally. There was a spinning wheel in every house then and the woman of the house carded combed an spun for several hours during the long winter nights. Having the yarn spun she began to knit and by the beginning of the Spring she had as much (yarn) socks
