    Dyes
    Women's stockings for Sunday were usually dyed with
    "Vegetable Dyes"
    Green Dye was made from moss or cabbage
    Brown Dye from heather blackberries, briars or soot
    Black Dye was produced from a solution of Logwood and cofferas (coffaes).
    Yellow Dye from Daffodils
    Shirts spun Flax were made locally and worn by farmers. They were coarse to feel but they wore well one of them sometimes
