the only mountains in Corthoon and each is about one thousand six hundred feet in height. Less than a half mile north of the White Hill on Shassmore mountain are the Seven Rooms. The Seven Rooms are seven large openings in a large limestone rock from whence the hills of Fermanagh, Lough Melvin, and the Sperrin and Carntogher mountains in Tyrone can be seen clearly in a Northern direction. Whilst to the opposite direction Benbulban in Sligo is clearly in view and again to South east we can see Quilcha mountains in Co. Cavan.
It was from Saddle Hill that Sir Frederick Hamilton saw his castle in Manorhamilton burn until nothing but the bare walls were left.
