    In olden times people thought certain days of the week unlucky for getting married namely Friday and Saturday. The old people had certain beliefs in connection with the days of the week for getting married;
    "Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no day at all."
    The old people thought it unlucky to meet one magpie on a day they would be getting married. They also thought they would have luck if they met two magpies on that day. It was also a belief that if the Bride had the wind in her back on that day that she would live longer than the groom. It was the custom to shake rice on the Bride
