"That you'll get" said the sergeant and good whiskey and money as well. The sergeant gave Paddy a shilling and a few drinks. The three men got up to go but Paddy told them stand their ground and says he and him lifting his right leg, "do ye think would that be of any use to His Majesty." Paddy had two veiled feet. Devil as ugly a foot in Christiandom" said the sergeant, I bet a bob there's worse" said Paddy and he lifted up his left foot which was a lot worse than the other one. Paddy was given another shilling by the sergeant, he started out and went home and continued working as a Hackler.
