On this page
- People had an opinion that the seventh son or daughter who had a father and a mother of the same name had the cure for the mumps. That person, boy or girl, would bring a female donkey to a stream and the person having the mumps would be put in under the donkey and out over his back three times. The person having the mumps had to take a drink from the stream each time and while this was going on the donkey was kept eating out meal bread.
