    usual home returning time the image was carried to a bridge in the neighbourhood called the Alt Bridge and placed on a stump of a previously cut tree. A lighted candle was placed behind it giving it a hideous appearence. When the man approach the bridge he beheld the "ghost." He did not give it a second look but turned back and ran home as fast as his legs could carry him, not to pass that way for many weeks after.
