    procured. A black snail met with by accident and rubbed on them will banish the warts. Then he is hanged on a hawthorn tree and by the time he is withered the warts have disappeared. Water in a rock or a stone boiled in potatoes both by accident are cures for warts.
    A Sty on the eye:
    Gooseberry thorns are repited to be a cure for a sty. Nine of them are procured and pointed in turn at the sty. The ninth is thrown away and the rest kept until the sty fades away.
    A Sprain:
    A string-tied round the sprained ankle or wrist of black woollen thread will cure the sprain
    A Cut
    Salt or some of the blood tied round it on a cloth will cure a cut
    Ague or Palsy
    The most common cure for the ague or palsy is hedgehog soup. The hedgehog is skinned and boiled in water which the sufferer must drink to get the cure
