Gooseberry thorns are repited to be a cure for a sty. Nine of them are procured and pointed in turn at the sty. The ninth is thrown away and the rest kept until the sty fades away.A Sprain:
A string-tied round the sprained ankle or wrist of black woollen thread will cure the sprainA Cut
Salt or some of the blood tied round it on a cloth will cure a cutAgue or Palsy
