- When the Franciscan monks were re-building the Creevelea monastery in Friarstown Dromahair after it was accidentally destroyed by fire a woman came along carrying a pail of water on her head. The monks asked her for a drink, but she refused them. By some great miracle she was left standing on the road unable to move with her tongue out. The monks carved her image out on the wall of the monastery. This image is to be seen to the present day in the ruins of Creevelea monastery.
