- (continued from previous page)this same man saw one of his brothers sons searching along the fence for something, so he asked him what was he looking for. The young lad said that his mother was out all night and did not return and he was searching for her. "Your mother is all right," says the man, taking out his purse and opening it. Out flew the big black clock off towards her house. "Now there is your mother," said the man. This woman had the power of changing herself into a clock or black beetle when she wished to do any evil.
