  2. A ciseán is made from straw. It is used for hens to lay in. This is the way to make it. Make a rope from straw. Double it, and make it into the form of a circle. Plait it like a mat. Knot about thirty small locks on to the straw rope, leaving each of them about an inch apart. Leave six or seven ins for a door. Plait round until you come to the door and turn back when you come to it. Continue until you finish
