- Most marriages take place during Easter week or during the time between January 6th and Ash Wednesday, this latter term is locally called "Saraft".
Sometimes "Matches" are made in our district and about fifty or a hundred pounds are generally given as a fortune or dowry. There is a wedding feast held sometimes in the bride's home and sometimes in the boy's house, and the visitors and guests dance to the music of the local fiddlers and flute players.
