  1. Hay was grown in this district long ago. It is not grown now. I never saw flax. Hay was reaped like oats. When it was reaped it was tied into sheaves and slept in a boghole. It was left in the boghole for a month. Then it was spread out to dry. It was them scutched with a flail. Then it was taken to the spinner and spun into thread. It was taken to the weave and woven into (thread) linen.
