  1. THE SUN
When the sun gets small and pale in the sky it is the sign of storm.
If the sun is very red when it is setting it is the sign of good weather.
When the sun is glittering and pale it is the sign of storm.

    THE MOON
When there is a ring round the moon it is the sign of storm. When the ring is near the moon it is said that the storm is far away but if the ring is far away the storm is at hand.

    THE MOON AND STARS
When the moon is very bright and the stars are glittering it is a sign of frost. When the stars are shooting it is a sign of bad weather. When the stars are falling and running in the sky, it is the sign of storm.

    A RAINBOW
If there is a rainbow in the sky in the morning it is the sign of storm. If there is a rainbow in the evening it is the sign of good weather.
When there is a rainbow on a Saturday evening it is said that the next week will be bad.

    THE SKY AND THE CLOUDS
Copper-coloured clouds in the sky indicate the approach of rain.

"An evening red and a morning grey

Pours down rain on the traveller's head"
