    day. If a person had jaundice he got the cure made with certain herbs by a man or a woman that had the cure.
    Another cure for a cold is to make oatmeal gruel and put sugar on it and take it before going to bed.
    If a person had a wart he would rub it three times for three days with water which he accidentally got in a hole in a stone saying each time in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
    If a person had a pain in his ear he would roast salt and put it to it.
    Another cure for the ear is to roast turnips and put them to it as hot as can be borne.
    If a person had a bad stomach he would steep dandelion leaves in buttermilk for twenty four hours and then take a spoonful of it every morning fasting.
    If a person had a thorn in his foot that he could not get out he would put a piece of fat bacon or a poultice of linseed meal to it before going to bed.
