    Houses
    The houses were mostly made of mud long ago. They had only on room in them and they had a bed in a hole in the wall called the cailleac which the children slept in. The roof was covered with straw or heather for thatch.
    The straw was got in the farm and the heather was got on the mountains.
    The doors were made of wood and they were hung with bacons and opened and closed with a hash outside and a
