Once upon a time there was an old castle near Newtown-Sandes and it was called Sandes castle. They say it was haunted. This castle was very old and when the men were knocking it a hare jumped from the top of the castle and put the mark of one of her legs in a flag stone and after her came a foal and put the mark of her leg in the same stone also.
