    It was regarded unlucky for the bride to return to her own house for the wedding breakfast.
    A large number of saddle horses formed part of the procession. These raced each other from the Church to the home.
    The winning horseman sat next to the bridegroom at the wedding feast and his horse was put in the best stable.
    Before roads were made the whole wedding party consisted of saddled horses: - the ladies riding cúlóg behind their husbands or brothers. The bride rode home from Church with her husband, cúlóg.
