An suan sin ort a mháthair

An suan sin ort, a Mháthair,
Ní headh, a mhic, acht an aisling.
Céard é an aisling sin, a mháthair,
Sé an aisling sin, a Mhic
Go mbeidh tusa dho d'chéasadh amáireach
Go mbeith tú do d'cheangail le róipín caol enáibe[?]
Go gcuirfear táirgní móra luaighte thrí d'chroidhe, do chosa agus thrí do lámha.
Go mbeidh fuil uasal do chroidhe istigh dhá dhóirteadh ar leacrachaibh na sráide.
Ó, is fíor an suan sin duit, a mháthair, níl duine a dhéarfadh t'aisling ag dul i mbás[?] codlata na h-oidhche nach mbeadh aige na flaithis le fághail.
