- There was a man long ago living in Glenamaddy named Thomas Donelan. He always palled with a man from the village named Martin Joyce. After some time Martin Joyce died and was buried in the parish graveyard near which Thomas Donelan had land. About 3 years after his death one evening Thomas Donelan had to go to his land near the graveyard; when he came near it he saw a man sitting on the wall and he recognised him to be his friend at one time. Thomas Donelan being a courageous man spoke to Martin Joyce even though he knew that this man was not still alive. The Joyce man answered him and stood up and walked with him to his Thomas Donelan's land. On their way he told Mr Donelan not to be afraid of him and said that he had not all his penance done yet and then he gave(continues on next page)
