    Horse fairs. The Fairs in Listowel were held under Lord Listowel. Toll was paid to him, and is now paid to his agents. 3d per head on cattle 2d per head on bonhams and pigs and a 1d on calves. This toll was paid at the "custom gap" and in Main St. and in Church St. at the various entrances into the town.
