    (iii) To eat or drink the food left by either of a married couple who have the same surname.
    (iv) To pass three times under an ass foal that has never been ridden.
    (v) The following cure originated by a man named Moran who lived on the side of Mong Hill, about two miles from the village of Leitrim. He kept a guest house and was very hospitable to the poor and the traveller.
    The cure he had was to make an oaten cake and to give three pieces of it to the person suffering from the whooping cough.
    The person - who had to eat those pieces with a knife and fork - would be cured in less than a week.
