    the new home, her mother in law, breaks an oat-cake over her head and she must be careful to put her right foot in first.
    The breakfast is given in the bride's house, and of course there is great joy and merriment. Again to make sure that the newly wed pair will never be in want, a dish of potatoes is placed on the table and also a dish of butter.
    I heard an old man say that when the bride arrived at her new home she was put in on the window and if that was too small, she was carried in by the door.
    This is a rhyme which shows, how in the old times people had their favourite days on which to get married.
