- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)machine. He generally sprays about three times waiting about three times waiting about three weeks between each spraying. There grows a lot of weeds between the stocks, red shank and yellow weed and he takes good care to root those out. In the month of October the farmer digs them and some of the younger members gather them. They are stored in heaps during the winter. A heap is merely a dry level spot in a field and the potatoes are thrown about three creels deep in it. They are first covered with rushes and then with a coating of clay about six inches deep. They are now secure for the winter. The names of the potatoes grown in this district are "aranbanners", "Kerr's Pink's" "Epicures", "Blue Eyes", Champions", "roses" "dates, "Dukes of York", British Queens", "Elephants and Aranrrators". The Aranbanners and Epicures are the biggest but the champion is the nicest.
