Here is a way they used to make loaf boxty. First they used to get some potatoes and wash them and peel them and grate them. Then they would put this into a big dish and mix all together. Then they would get about a half a plate of flour and some salt and a grain of soda and a porringer of new milk and some times there is some carraway put into it. It is made about the same size of the oven. The oven is put on the fire to heat and when it is heated the cake is put in and left there to bake and when it is baked it is very nice to eat.
