    there was a priest reading Mass on the top of [Pier?] Hill, and his head was cut off, and where his head fell, there never grew a bit of grass since, or I believe never will.
    In that time they priests would not be allowed to say Mass, and they used to say Mass at the back of ditches, and in every silent place, in such a way as that no one could see them, or get at them to kill them. The priests used to be afraid of their lives,
