  1. Bonfire Night.
    In this district there are two big bonfires held during the month of June. The first is on the 22nd and the other is held on the 29th of June the feast of S.S. Peter and Paul. During the day children gather sticks, turf, and brosna for the fire. They gather all the materials to one appointed place, usually at a cross roads or high hill. About six o'clock they light the bonfire. If the weather is good it is very enjoyable to sit around the fire listening to the old people telling tales of what happened long ago.
