    woman and as it was getting very dark he asked could he seek shelter there until morning. The giantess told him that this was the house of a giant and if he stayed he would be in great danger of being killed.
    However, she decided to hide him under the bed. After a few minutes the giant came in. No sooner had he entered the kitchen when he began to smell around him and with a thundering voice which frightened the boy he cried out "Fee, Fá, Fum, I smell the blood of an Irishman, Be him dead or be him alive, I will make his bones for stepping stone, And a marble of his head." But his wife replied "It is only an ox I am after killing."
