    said that if one of them would kill the [?][?][?] he would arm him arm would arm with a sword and shield to defend himself and would also give him the best house in his stable, and if he killed the " Lam Fasa Dub" the lord would give him half his land and posessions.
    The following day one of the men set out to kill the "Lam Fasa Dub". On his way he met a priest and asked his blessing, the priest did so and also gave him a charm of three "sheafes of oats". When night came the man went off to the place and did as the priest commanded, he threw the sheafs in across a high wall which was miles long about a quarter of a mile between each sheaf.
    He threw the first sheaf across the wall and said " [?] in the name of God if you are flesh and bones but there was a response. He went on to the second place and threw a sheaf across and said the same words but he got no reply. He went to the third place and threw the last sheaf of oats across the wall and said " bone in the name of God if you are flesh and bones". Immediately he had said these words the huge "Lam Fasa Dub" stretched forth and grabbed the horse by the throat, the horse could not move with the grip it had on its throat. It was a terrible size, the fingers were as long as the man's arm, and the whole hand was so large as the horse's body.
    The man lifted his sword and struck the "Lam Fasa Dub" it split in two, half of fell to the ground and turned
