overboard. A lot of small houses were seen around this district in famine times but there is no sign of them now. Thousands of people died and were buried coffin less. Thousands of people left Ireland to go to foreign lands but they died on the way. I often heard people say that a shipload of Indian corn coming into an Irish port would pass a shipload of irish corn going out to pay the landlord. There wasn't a cow or any other animal to be seen on the land when the famine was over. The famine was a very hard time in Ireland.
