- Travelling folk still call at the houses of the district. Long ago they were very poor. They go around selling lace and necklaces and saucepans. Some of them tell fortunes. People buy articles from them. In the town they get their supplies. Some of these travelling folk are very welcome. They get food from the people. They leave their caravans in the side of the road and travel around to the houses on foot. The O'Briens and the Mc Cartys are the people that come around most often. They come around for horse fairs, big fairs and for the Races.
