- There lived a man long ago named Donal O'Sullivan. He had a lot of gold and he was afraid that the soldiers who were fighting in Ireland in Cromwell's time would attack his house and carry away all his gold. He hid a crock of it under a black-thorn bush and he told the Good people to mind it for him and not to let anyone go near it until he would go for it himself.
