    While he was on his death bed he used to say "Look at all the brown cats on the roofing of the house".
    People say that it was a fairy cat that scraped him and that is why he died.
    There is a story told about Nolan's fort.
    One day John Downes went to the fort cutting bushes and when he arrived home he was covered with black marks and he was never afterwards a day's good.
    Wild cats are mostly heard in all the forts at present and many people dread them.
