- There are three forges in the village of Ballylongford. The one I know best is the one owned by Michael Enright in Ballyline Street. It is situated in a lane-way about one hundred and fifty yards from the river, and about forty yards from the public road. It is supposed to be the oldest forge in Ballylongford.
The forge is slated at the front and covered with felt at the back. There are three windows in the forge, and the walls are white washed. In the forge there is always a glowing fire kept. Near the fire is a cement trough full(continues on next page)- Collector
