    mill wheel does not turn on Saint Martins Day. They also say that there is a cure in the blood that is draw from fowl on Saint Martins Eve. It would cure any pain that you would have you should make the sign of the cross wherever you have the pain with the blood. If you did not the pain would not go.
    They also have a bon-fire on Saint John's night, in honour of Saint John for he was the first man to administer the sacrament of Baptism. On Saint John's Day the people bless the cattle and the crops with holy water.
