   Potatoes are generally grown in this country. We sow potatoes in an acre of land and sometimes they are sown in a different part of the land. My grandfather prepares it with a plough and two horses. It is harrowed then. The drills are opened with a double board plough. The manure is drawn in to the garden. It is then spread in the furrows in heaps. Sciolláin are then put down on the manure. They are closed with a plough. Some people make ridges to sow their potatoes. The spades they use to make the ridges are bought spades. The ploughs are made in a factory at Wexford.
