  1. On St. Stephen's day all the boys and girls dress up and go around to all the houses and gather money. They dance and sing and play music. They kill a wren and put him on a holly-stick and they sing.
The wren the wren the king of all birds
On St. Stephen's day he was caught on the furzes

They keep the money and make up for a big dance.
On St. Brigid's day they get a doll and go around with the Biddy. This doll is supposed to be St. Brigid. On St. Patrick's day we all wear badges and the three leaved shamrock in honour of St. Patrick. On Shrove Tuesday most marriages take place. The custom is to make pancakes.
