followed the Black Pig from Clare until he came to Muckduff where he killed her. It is said that when he was killing her she stung him in the hand. He sent a messenger to get him some water to wash his hand. The person he sent got some water in a sraith a few fields away. The water he brought him cured his hand. There is a spring well were the water was got and it never dries.
There is a valley not far from the well called Murrain's valley. There are the ruins of a house in the valley where a captain lived about one hundred years ago. There are some flowers there yet which grew round the captain's house.
